Parkour and Free Running

Today I'll be hanging out with Tim Odell, who's into parkour. My kids think he's a real ninja, because he also does martial arts. They stood in awe as he ran up a tree onto a roof, jumped off, then did a back flip. This is ridiculous stuff... FYI, the opening scene of (this is a correction from the original...) James Bond: Casino Royale was parkour.

Fact: In high school, Ryan Seiler used to jump over people's cars. Parkour?

Parkour is a sport or athletic activity in which the participant seeks to move quickly and fluidly through an area, often an urban locale, by surmounting obstacles such as walls and railings and leaping across open spaces, as in a stairwell or between buildings.

Freerunning pertains to the tricking involved in motion...hence the combination namely Parkour&Freerunning

Jumping over people's cars? I guess you could call that Parkour. And as for the bloopers...sometimes it does mean wearing of the body but realize that this occurs in every sport. With great sacrifice often comes great rewards, even and especially when it comes to self. Thanks for making time Mark. It was pleasant and a very much enjoyable conversation.

I was going to alert you to the season opener of the office also. When I was watching I didn't pick up on what they were referring to... your video just cleared the air! I've seen very ungraceful Parkour occur on the MU parking ramp back in the day... if you could even call it parkour. The round exit ramp is an interesting venue for it. Who knew this was an official pastime?
